Frequently Asked Questions
Growing up in America isn't easy for the Hindu child. No one knows that better than us, Hindu adults who were raised in the US. Advenutres in Hinduism exists specifically to make Hinduism approachable for Hindus raised in America. We want to make sure your kids have it easier than we did when we were growing here. We turn to experts in India to help us create our content, but then we re-explain everything in a way that your kids will understand. If we can help make life easier for even one child, we've accomplished our goal.
How does it work?
We post a new audio lesson
on a topic related to Hinduism every Monday and Wednesday night. That’s at least 104 lessons per
year. You can listen to all of them or just to the ones on topics that interest you. Lessons will remain online for thirty days, so you can listen to them at your convenience. Just log-in with
your child and listen to your lessons right here on our site.
What will my child learn?
The main problem Hindu children
face in America is that they can’t learn their religion by way of
osmosis like their parents did in India. Because of this, it’s very
important that we begin specifically teaching them the tenants of Hinduism
at an early age. At Adventures in Hinduism, we believe your child is
smart enough to handle even the most complex of Hindu topics, so long
as those topics are explained over time and in a fun way that kids will understand. So, we
not only tell them stories about all their favorite mischievous gods,
but we also use the ancient scriptures to answer some of the most commonly
asked questions about Hinduism. We cover all aspects of Hinduism: stories, prayers, festivals, scriptures, you name it. Our goal is simply to make sure your
child has all the spiritual tools they need to live a happy and godly
life, no matter what country they’re in.
Who are your writers?
We have two teams of writers.
The first team consists of our content writers—our Hinduism experts.
Our content writers all currently reside in India and they range from
Phds in Comparative Religion to life long students of Vedanta. Our content
writer selection process was extensive and detailed. Ultimately, we
ended up with a team of writers who are not only exceptionally qualified,
but also incredibly dedicated to helping your child learn the beauty
of Hinduism.
Our second team of writers
consists of American raised Hindu adults who take the content from our
experts in India and make it approachable for your child. We range in
age from our mid 20s to mid 30s and range in occupation from young professionals
to graduate students. We all have experience teaching children and writing
on Hinduism. We are the ones who personally know how difficult it can
be to grow up as a Hindu in America. We know what mixed messages your
child will receive. We know the ridiculous questions their peers will
ask them about their religion. We know the temptations of the American
way of life, and we know how much easier our life here in America was
once we learned to live it the Hindu way. Besides you, no one is more
dedicated to helping your child than us, because we know from first
hand experience the cultural barriers that he or she faces every day.

Can I get involved?
Of course! We see this as a collaborative experience and welcome all input from students and their families. Want to comment on a recent lesson? Have an idea for a future lesson? Want to write a lesson? Have news that you think the Adventures in Hinduism community should be aware of? Please always feel free to email us at feedback@adventuresinhinduism.com and let us know what you think.
The most important way you can help this site grow is to invite your friends and family to come learn about Hinduism with us. The bigger our community gets, the more resources we'll have and, hence, the more we can offer our students and their families. We're grateful for our generous donors that got us started, but now the work is up to us!
